    It doesn't exactly assign them randomly, it draws them from a pool for each culture in the order that they are in the file so you won't have a Russian voivoide wearing a Templar's tunic.

    How far does the game permit heroes appearance?
    Custom portraits for individuals can be scripted.


    Is it possible to break generals being tied to a family tree?
    Yes. There will be a family tree but not all generals have to be in it. You can make generals recruitable.

    I think first picture is not belong to Selim the Grim. It is known that picture is belong to Shah Ismael of the Safavids.
