Well the Ottoman military band is the oldest known military marching band in the world. They're quite impressive.

They're featured in BC, as background music. Though they are a bit late for BC's time frame.

British Grenadiers and Hohenfriedberger Marsch are great. The latter was even composed by Frederick II himself.

I love how the most popular British Grenadier video is in German and the Prussian video is English.

Also, thanks to essentially being a military marching song, the Turkish National Anthem kicks ass.

I basically listen to marches when I'm on a computer.

I've found that the French and Germans have the best, while Americans and Brits have the worst.

Ottoman marching music is also very nice.

I agree, although the Russians aren't bad. I'm a fan of the old Preobrazhensky.

I'm also glad to know I'm not the only one who listens to marching music for no reason.
La Victoire Est A Nous is one I like best (The second tune, the March of the Cuirassiers bothers me)

I've always liked Marcia Carolus Rex ever since I first heard it on Victoria.

I've also always enjoyed Finnish marching music. One such example here.

Of course, the classic German marches are fun like Hohenfriedberger, Königgrätzer, and Preussen Gloria. But i'd also like to add Fallschirmjager marches to the mix such as Grün ist unser Fallschirm and Hört ihr unseren Schritt
Thank you for reading this assuredly fantastic post.

Preussens Gloria is not only my favorite march, but also one of my favorite songs of all time. To me, there's just something very dignified and mathematically precise about marches. Remind me of my favorite thing in the world... organization.

Thanks for starting this thread up.

EDIT: To Johann Strauss II's 'marches' count? If so,
