The one thing that is lacking in ETW.
I know that there have been loads of threads discussing(or ranting, if you will) the main flaws of ETW, but one more won't hurt, right?
Well, I think that the main flaw ETW posseses is the lack of epicness.
In RTW and M2TW there was(and still is) constant epicness. In campaign, in battles, everywhere. In both of these games, I just had a 'Wow!' feeling in every big battle. I really got into it, picturing me as the general, or as an ordinary soldier on the line. Fighting for god, fot the king, for my emperor, for whatever. I didn't feel like an armchair general just clicking on stuff, looking at an ancient battlefield through a computer screen, far away from the battle, shouting "no! you idiots! I said charge! CHAAARGE!". You could feel the heat of battle, the anxiety the soldiers must feel at that moment(Yes, feel. In Non-ETW non-NTW TW games, the soldiers are more then just mere pixels for me), the commands you should take to save your troops.... It all sat nicely in a nice storyline I made as the game proggressed. I felt connected to my generals(So connected, actually, that - as you can see - my username, sig and avatar are filled by my favorite one so far). In the campaigns, as well. I felt as either the king of a Greek Polis, or a Roman Senator, or A Barbarian chieftein, or a medieval feudal lord, or a Crusader in my campaigns, and If I could feel like the governer of a colony, an admiral, or an enlightened scholar in the 18th century it would have greatly helped.
Discuss the epicness of the games.
