Edit unit stats, and import to vanilla.

Hi Guys
So I'm a newbie here, so I don't know if this has been posted if it has please redirect me.
I also want to start modding, and all the question I am about to ask are from an idiot when it comes to stuff like this

So I have been playing Rome vanilla for a while now, and I wanted to get a mod for it.
So I got the XGM mod, and I love it!
The only problem that I have with it is it's map and unit stats.
In the XGM mod I find units are to superman like, they take forever to die or route, is there a way for me to edit these units stats?
Make them more human

And if I can, is there a way to import them into vanilla Rome?
I prefer the Romans in the mod, but want to play on the vanilla map...
