    Default Romani and gladiator/slave rebellions?

Does EB have the slave/gladiator uprisings as it does in vanilla (what is the trigger)- and are they better or the same? And can you recruit gladiators? Sorry I didn't load the Recruitment viewer

There are no gladiator units in EB. In the few cases when gladiators were used as soldiers, they would wear normal legionary gear.

Thats a shame I used to like the gladiator rebels feature in vanilla hopefully might be in EB2, definitely shouldn't be a Roman unit for the reasons you pointed out.

Are you saying there should be a rebel-only gladiator unit in EB2? The point that I am trying to make is that gladiators, when called up for war, fought as regular soldiers rather than in their arena dress. Gladiator outfits look impressive, but aren't that practical on an actual battlefield.

I am afraid I don't know much about the mechanism for gladiator uprisings, or whether it is present in M2:TW.

What were some of the events that Gladiators were used as soldiers anyways?

Don't know of any, but I think it would be nice if Gladiators units were in Rebel/Eleutheroi armies - don't know how historic it is but I'm sure a few escapee Gladiators would have joined rebel forces somewhere down the track - just liked them in vanilla but can live without just wanted to know if they were in EB Cheers

Wouldn't make much sense seeing as gladiator outfits were unsuited for protection against ranged weapons. Any sensible gladiator escapee would grab a shield and some practical armour instead.
Thus you would probably find them in units like Rorarii or the Samnite Spearmen, even in heavy infantry units if properly drafted by the state, but not in ridiculous arena "armour" with big bulky helmets and no protection for the belly (watch enemy archers dying from laughing fits).

If you want to roleplay a gladiatorial revolt, you could perhaps use a medley of Hastati Samnitici (or other regional Italic troops), Rorarii and light missile troops.

IIRC a number were drafted after Cannae. Marius also recruited them as weapon instructors when preparing the face the Cimbri. Most notably, off course, is the gladiators' revolt led by Spartacus.

In any case of danger where townsman, freed slaves or criminals would have been called up as militia.
But again, as others said, not in their arena dress, instead with weapons and equipment provided by the town or state.
