The Bass Thread
Any bassists here? What instruments do you play, who are your favorite bassists, how do you prefer to play etc?
I play a Rickenbacker 4001 and a Fender Precision copy (Made by a local luthier). I'm a huge fan of Chris Squire of Yes. Absolutely amazing bassist, his playing on "Roundabout" instantly hooked me to Yes and introduced me to a whole new kind of music, and eventually led me to pick up the bass guitar.

Re: The Bass Thread
If I didn't play the piano or the guitar, my instrument would be the bass. I'm a big bass fan. Just all aspects of it. The power of it, the groove....I always appreciate a nice groove.

I have a bass for when I do some home recording. I wouldn't call myself a bassist, bu I could get by on one.

Re: The Bass Thread
Been playing Bass for about 3 years, after playing guitar for about 13 years previous to that. Considering how long i've been playing for I should be a lot better than I am!
I've got a Ibanez 5 string Ergodyne, and a custom built 5 String of unknown manufacture, played through A Gallien Krueger 2001rb (Great Amp by the way, I'd thoroughly recommend it)
Favorite bassists are Justin Chancellor from Tool, Geezer Butler from Sabbath, the dude who's name I can never remember from Muse, and Victor Wooten.
