I'm curious to know what kind of artists you guys would pay to see in concert. I'm a huge fan of live music and going to concerts is probably my favorite pastime so long as it doesn't get too expensive. Any cool shows coming up? Been to any cool shows recently? please share!

You and me both man. I love summer festivals, but I love the intimate shows too.

Um, seen probably too many bands to list. Went to a release party for a band called Headlights (shoegaze indie) and they went wild and had us dancing on the stage. When they came back for the encore one of them starting dancing with us and stopped playing. Oh yeah, and there were a ton of balloons. It was a great, intimate show that also kinda melted your face.

In terms of actual face-melting, I also saw Japandroids and Titus Andronicus . They were loud and awesome.

of Montreal was fun to watch. They put a guy on a raft and sent him into the crowd.

Los Campesinos! were fun too. Lots of dancing, lots of singing along, and lots of talking between crowd and singers.
Gareth (lead): (thick English accent) so that was called Sweet Dreams, Sweet Cheeks
    heckler: Speak English!
Gareth: sorry we speak proper english...
    heckler: you're from Wales though!
Gareth: you should edit our wikipedia page, good work

MSTRKRFT was so doofy and umsty my face melted again. There was a guy crowd surfing holding an owl lawn ornament on a pole. And hipsters dressed as Native Americans dancing.

Oh, and Santogold was awesome~ gurl knows how to make the crowd go crazy

Anyway this summer I should be seeing Modest Mouse, Broken Social Scene, and others at Chicago's Pitchfork festival. Will probably head to Lollapalooza as well.

edit; nearly forgot, last summer I saw Margot & the Nuclear So and So's at a street fest in Chicago. They were on a stage that more or less took up Milwaukee Ave in Wicker Park, if anyone knows where that is, but the buildings were tall and flanked them so the acoustics were ridiculous. The sun more or less set to them playing and I had a ing fantastic time.

    hells yes music *blasts*

Wanna go to warped tour with me? I drag my friends along but they always get tired of literally sprinting from stage to stage to catch all the bands :/
And the pizza costs a kidney per slice. Honestly, how can it even be legal to charge $15 for a personal pizza? Just cos we can't leave to get food? LAME.

Though I get the feeling we like very different types of music, we could find a compromise in the indie stuff for sure. (maybe even ska?!)

I don't get very many live performers where I live (Alabama, USA) of the music I like.

However, I did go see my first concert by Dream Theater in Atlanta, GA!

Other Bands I would pay to see:

    Dream Theater (again)
    Metallica
    Zappa Plays Zappa
    Peter Gabriel
    Tool
    King's X

The closest I get to any sort of rap/hiphop is when punk goes crunk. Or I Set My Friends on Fire, just cos they have those techno beats sometimes. Hip hop really isn't my thing. :/

Pogo is the term. Especially good when the whole crowd does it in unison a la Eintracht Frankfurt supporters.

Analysis should not be diverted by reflections upon the zeal with which the victors at the end of the Second World War punished the defeated for war crimes. The victors were animated by the ideals of the Atlantic Charter and of the United Nations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was about to peep over the eastern horizon. But first, they wanted a little hanging.

Apocalyptica is amazing live! it's a finnish cello-rock band, so both lovers of some lyrical compositions and fans of metal won't be disappointed

they work really hard during the concerts and I've enjoyed every minute of it, want moar!
