Hello, I have been enjoying N:TW's improved multiplayer, but starting on the 15th, I have been getting this error every single match. It usually strikes immediately after the setup phase of a battle ends, but sometimes it's a good way into a match.
I'm not currently using any mods.
I found a similar topic in the E:TW forums, which was apparently resolved using the "verify internal cache" and "degragment cache files" functions of Steam.
Unfortunately, it would appear that my files are 0% fragmented. When I tried verifying my internal cache, nine inconsistencies were found. It set about automatically repairing these inconsistencies (which, judging by the download speed, means it set about downloading the whole game through steam, which my fellow Australians may understand is problematic, as nets are generally capped or shaped after so many MB down under and Napoleon is a big game). Of course, had I opted to proceed with the suggested solution, I would also be unable to play the game for days, so I simply deleted the game and tried a fresh install.
The problem persists.
I daren't try checking for inconsistencies again, as if it were to find any problems, I would have no choice but to let it download or go through the entire reinstall again, which I am reluctant to do if I need to waste more internets on re-patching.
Essentially, I have no idea what is going on - is it related to my files? Is it a problem with everybody's files? Is it a problem with Steam? It is a problem.
If anyone is able to shed any light on the subject, I would be most appreciative.
