    Default Windows 7 ?

    Let me preface this question with a note that I am not the most computer savy guy in the world. Anyhow, I can't get this mod to launch and I have followed the directions on the BC 2.0 page three times. Is the mod incompatible with Windows 7? And by the way, I didn't purchase the game through Steam, so I figured the sticky might not apply.

    I'm running it perfectly on Windows 7--incompatibility is not the problem. Why isn't it launching? What is the error message? Can I see your log?

    I cant find the logs, but the black box opens first that says:C:\ Program Files (86)\ SEGA\Medieval II Total War -medieval2.exe @bc.cgf

    Then a second or two latter a box pops up that says CA LIBS in top left and main text says Medieval II suffered a fatal error and will now exit.

    Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Hmm...post your bc.cfg, or at least the text of it.

    I managed to open it with the word pad and it says:[features]
    mod = broken_crescent

    [video]
    movies = false[video]
    widescreen=0
    [game]
    allusers=1

    Well, there's your problem. bc.cfg got corrupted somehow. I've attached one that ought to work...

    The problem could be you don't have write privileges to the folder. Take ownership of the Sega folder and make sure you have the appropriate rights to it. If you have already done this and it still doesn't work, right click on the Medieval.exe file select properties, go to the compatibility tab and select "Run as Administrator" box. This should do it.

    EDIT: or your config got corrupted. lol

    Thanks for this info. I figured out how to overwrite the file using the word pad, but I wouldn't have even thought to take control of the SEGA file. So now it is up and running.
