    Default [EU3] No pirates

    Im tired of these damned pirates! I tried going into the save game to change the pirate tech level but they still spawn

    Do you have HTTT? Last I checked it's hardcoded in that HTTT, though it's been away since I last played it.

    Create ships in different small stacks. Then order each stack to patrol your certain coastal cities & colonies. Pirates would rarely appear then.

    For IN, you need to change these things:

    -If you go into the nations file, change the pirate's tech group from latin to new_world. Any new save will never spawn pirates. This isn't save retroactive.

    -If you want to disable pirates in a given save, reset all their techs to 0 or 1, and change their tech group to new_world so they won't ever get the tech again. Any existing pirates will still be there, but no new ones will ever spawn again.

    I did what you said and started a new game but the pirates still ended up spawning -_- soo aggravating

    do you think deleting the Pirate faction altogether will do it?

    For some reason even if I change their tech level and all that it still doesn't rid of them (even in a new game)

    Copy out the contents of their file in history\countries here, i'll take a look at it. Remember you have to change tech level, and tech group.

    I'm pretty sure just deleting the faction will bug things. Otherwise people would always just say to do that instead.

    Just organise naval patrols. Most people use galleys, but I get the Grand Navy idea and get large ships - which means my patrols can defend my islands from single unit invasions when at war.

    If you're playing IN, I have no idea why that isn't working on a new game. There's no reason it shouldn't.

    I'd pop down to the Paradox forums for some help. I don't know what else to say.

    in HTTT pirates are not annoying at all. I rarely see them.
    Swear filters are for sites run by immature children.
