Strategy for Granda

Does anyone has a good strategy for Granada. They are nearly impossible to play with. Castille immediately declares war & they are hard to stop.

Although I haven't tried playing as Granada, I do recall how easy it was to crush them as Castille. I would probably take some land not in the Iberian Peninsula within the first few days, like an OPM in the Mediterranean or a few provinces of a North African nation, and mint like crazy. Other than that, praying for a good dice roll might work, inshallah.

I played as them once and won.

Basically they DOWed me, but portugal and then aragon did so to them as well. Plus I was allied with morocco.

I ended up winning and eventually took over all of spain.

You just need a combination of luck and good allies.

IMO you have a better chance if you play as morocco and then take over spain.

Lots and lots of mercs and lots and lots of luck and hoping you can exploit attrition. That's about it.

To put it in perspective, in a Portugal game I played once where I bullrushed Castille right off the bat, Granada were actually doing well, because Castille's entire army was being bogged down trying to besiege one place and not being able to. That's the sort of luck you need, while you let attrition take the stack down enough that you have a chance of beating it.
