Playing as GB on H/H, my campaign by October of 1808 has resulted in me owning all of western Europe, from Istanbul NW through Belgrade, Vienna, Munich, Kassel and over to Reims...and all points to the south and west. France is gone, Spain is gone, Austria is gone, the Otomans are gone.

Other than a handful of nations in southern Italy, and Sweden and Denmark....the only major powers left are myself (GB), Prussia, and Russia. Right now we 3 are all allies and singing kumbaya together.

I'm really interested to see how the AI diplomacy works in this situation. I'll report back with developments.

Looking forward to hearing the updates! My only useful/powerful ally is Russia and they hate me. They could use jewellery sent by me for curtains nationwide.

    Update -

    January, 1809

Although doing nothing to antagonize them, the Prussians decided on this date to expand their empire and launched a surprise attack along the entire front, laying siege to Kassel, Munich and Vienna, and parking 2 field armies in the college town SW of Belgrade.

My army at this point consisted of 7 well-balanced full stacks, stationed at Istanbul, the college town in Istanbul region, Belgrade, Vienna, Munich, the depot SW of Kassel, and Reims.

I was able to break the sieges at Munich and Vienna fairly easily, and after convincingly defeating the Kassel attackers, my army had enough movement left to march on, and take Berlin. BUT...the Prussians have another 4 full stacks around Budapest I wasn't aware of, and in fact anticpated it would be Russia who would break the fragile peace and stationed my armies accordingly.

When Prussia attacked, we both had many allies to call upon (each of us asked Russia for assistance), but the only ally of either side to respnd was the Netherlands joined me.

Prussia outnumbers me on land, and their prestige is equal to mine, but if Russia remains neutral for just a few months I'm sure I can turn back the Prussian backstabbers. Taking Berlin on the first turn of this new war will be a deal breaker for them.
