Having trouble playing and updating :(

First time poster here and i have done all i can think of that could help, but nothing works

Ok, well this all started after i tried installing 1.02. I DLed it to the same place i had DLed 1.01 (using the installer) , but when i started up CoW again, nothing had changed.

I tried reinstalling Medieval Total War and then i reinstalled Kingdoms and then i attempted to reinstall CoW with the patches. Same thing happened, it would only play the 1.01 part of CoW.

After this i tried to install the whole thing through one DL through the torrent, nothing happened, just played the 1.01 part of CoW.

Ok, so after this i tried going to my control panel and deleting CoW from there and then reinstalling Kingdoms, but it seemed to only get worse, because i got a error when i started which said " This application has failed to start because WSOCK32.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Which then i tried to reinstall it and the same message comes up. So, now when i start the game it is not only playing as a 1.01 it randomly crashes.

I would really like to play this game at its full potential, but due to this idk if i can go on

1) Welcome to the TWC! It's always nice to see new members.

2) Did you make sure you were installing to your Medieval 2 directory in all of the installers? Some installers don't direct it to your Medieval 2 folder.
