    Default Die already!

How logn do General live for, I know in Vanilla they dropped by 60-63.

However in SS late Campaign, i was waiting for Henry to die the minute he turned 60. But it took 14 year more turns. It drove me crazy.

Is late 60s the normal death date or was I just unlucky here?

Must get a better medical assurance for yor generals. My boys live ussual 70-80 years if they dont die in battles. Record is a Doge of Venetia who lived 93 years.

Oh god if he lived to 80...his son would of never been King.(Not a huge age difference) And his son is the pious most loyal (and after becomign King most authority) best general of all time. He single handley displaced the Seljuks Turks and the Fatmids.

(I really should make an AAR out of this)

"auto_win defender" cheat is what I use in such cases (of course if I am the attacker).
Never really understood why heir selection and abstaining wasnt implemented...

    More AARs are better.
Generals seem to live pretty random lifespans in my experience.
Popes are usually the longest lived, they can reach, yeah, 90.
I had my fat governor king of Cairo reach 86 before he died.
But military serving generals, yeah, they do seem to fall around the mark of 60-70.
It's a shame assassins can't be used on yourself like in M1TW.

That would be cool. You could easily re-enact the general plot of Macbeth if you could assassinate family members.

Issue is I'm roleplaying in my campaign..

Prince Edward the Lazy was pretty crappy stat wise..until he started kicking ass in Egypt as a Crusader. he went from one piety ring, and 2 commander stars to 10 commander stars and ten piety rings rather quickly. I actually send two full stack generals there, Prince Edward and a general named Lawrence. Lawrence died ina battle and Edward kicked ass in return. In the end I coqnuered all of teh Fatmid Empire Eyptian land and that one to west, and the Holy Land area tehy took.

Then a jihad was called on Cairo and He kicked all there ass. but it killed my rep. However he then got a crusade called on Antioch and Kick the Truks ass all teh wya into antolia, they have no aprt of antolia now.

Eventually I had too many issues runnign all of them so I gifted Natolia to Byzantines, the Holy Land and Egypt to Kingdom of Jerusalem (alognw itha bunch of cash). And I'm now int he process of sailing King Edward the Champion back to England to take his role as King of England in London officially.

Quick question however, how many duke retinue thing can a general hold. Cause I have Edward's son, William holding liek four, and I want him to holy as many as physically possible. (So when we have a King William II he will be the the absolute ruler of the English lands, and an absolute ruler of many non english held lands. (He has Duke of Cairo Damietta, Cairo, Tortosa and Exeter so far.)

Generals can hold 8 ancillary characters/titles in their retinue. I think some submods add a few of the ancillary titles to the traits of the King or Heir so they can then pass those ancillary characters/titles off to another general but either way the limit they can hold is 8.

Best to is to take the highest bonus ones on your King if he is governor of your richest city or just your favorites... which should work ok roleplaying. Although depending on if you have BGR submod installed passing those titles around can result in "title stolen" trait which reduces loyalty, piety, and morale of troops.

Oh good. Before this closed one mroe question.

When you play as faction that's can go horde after they lose all their land, do you have the ability when you play as them. like if the Teutonic order suddenly got pwned by the Lithuanians. And I was playing as them..do I have the ability to make them wander around?

Not that I know but actually never had that situation happen... interesting question. I think it had to be coded to allow but maybe someone else will know.

I am fairly certain that there is a mod available.

I love how death from old age is no longer an exact science. I remember all you had to do was wait until the General hit 61 or something like that and you knew straight away that he was about to croak.

The only problem is the old guy in the pointy hat lives to a lot longer now. Has not been boding well for allies who keep getting excommed. The current Pope is only 50 years young!

I tempted to do it. I started a Teutonic campaign and going to build up the largest army of all times..and then set myself up be conquered mercilessly by the Lithuainians.

Oh man, I remember I had a general in Rome: Total War named Cassius the Cruel that lived to be 99 years old. Worst of all, he was the Emperor, was a lunatic, and had like all negative traits and ancillaries, not only that he literally had like EVERY (Hates the ____) trait, and was a total jackass to his own people. Like 30 negative traits.
