Default Almost ready to delete RTR

Can anyone please explain or suggest why RTR gold crashes almost 5 times and hour (if I'm lucky). This will the THIRD time I've to start my campaign from scratch because this POS crashes so often it corrupts my save game file.

RTR Gold should not crash....at least not until 66bc........so you've obviously made a mistake installing the game. What you need to do is - give us a detailed description of the steps you took while downloading and installing the RTR Gold. The more info the better.

BTW: Welcome to the RTR forums

It`s a hardcoded thing. The game is possibly looking for the conditions for the roman civil war and in rtr`s case(with only one roman faction) this causes a crash around the year 66 BC. Afaik it only happens if you play with the roman faction. If you have rtr 6 gold(and not rtrpe) you can go past it by skipping a year using a save editor. Iirc RomeSage which is in the twc downloads section. Apparently this does the trick. Never tried it myself though. All this info was in the FAQ iirc but I guess someone took it out for I can`t find it anymore.
About your other problems. Who can possibly guess unless you give some sort of details about what happens when?

Yeah, mine messes up as well. Got, what im guessing is the traditional CTD during the Carthage move around 232 BC. However, after reinstalling and doing the proper fix i just got this message when trying to get into a battle.

Script Error in data/descr_model_battle.txt, at line 668, column 34.
Model database failed to load model RTRPE/data/RTR/models_unit/rome_early_general.cas.

I think that was in the RTR 6 FAQ which used to be stickied in the main RTR forum, but got unstuck in some forum cleaning. Maybe it would be better to move it to here...

It`s already here(the one from the rtr forums reposted on twc by kali). Just the info doesn`t seem to be there anymore.
