    Default Dear electronics industry...

    Dear electronics industry, please...

...Stop putting uber-bright LEDs on products, specifically ones that flash and strobe even when the product is turned off. Theres this thing called night, when people sleep, and they prefer darkness. An orange LED light strobing on and off every 30 seconds has a tendency to interfere with this habit.

Dear customers who don't like LED strobe lights...

Please to refrain setting up home theater systems, gaming consoles and microwaves in your bedroom, such products are designed to be placed in your living room or kitchen. As for our computer parts we usually have a version without strobing lights that can be purchased at a lower cost than our strobing lights version.

Cover the light with some black tape? Problem solved?

Back when I used to have to leave a router in my room on overnight I always just used to throw something like a shirt over it. Would've used tape but I actually needed to see those lights in the daytime.

First off: Everyone is totally misunderstanding the point of this thread

Secondly: Sorry, when I bought my laptop, I didnt notice the: "Remove giant strobing LED" option, that for some reason engineers thought people would like.

Thirdly: Wow tape, whats that? I didnt think of tape, is that some kind of alien substance? *sarcasm*

I appreciate all the attempts to help, but this is just a place for us to mutually complain about things that bug us with our equipment and software.

EDIT: @ C.M. K, Ill just stop using my laptop, laptop charger, powerstrip, my headphones, my headphones base, my record player, and my cell phone in my room from now on; good suggestion. : )

Agree bleeping lights on cell phones is v annoying!

Following the theme of the first post - dear electronic industry .......

You give us too much choice- there are a million varieties and new products come out each year (see computing parts, tv's, hi fi equipment etc)
how are we supposed to choose?

stop making products that last about a month. ive had the same old tv since like 1995 and a computer monitor since 2000. both still going strong. why did the new tv i looked after so lovingly break in 2 years? same with ps3! same with phones same with everything made nowadays. i nearly always splsh out on a 'good' well known brand hoping i will get some sort of quality assurance but no. never. everything breaks

Dear Dell, Please change what gets yoru stickers to attach to the inside o fthe computer. I don't want my, "Windows Vista" tag on when I'm running Win7 but to remove it leaves sticky residue. I'd appreciate a small vile of WD40 for this in the box. Please and Thank you.
