Default which is the real DLV?

    I wonder the difference between

    {UI_NEW_GAME_IMPERIAL_CAMPAIGN}Main Campaign

    and

    {UI_NEW_GAME_PROVINCIAL_CAMPAIGN}Custom Campaign.

    which is the real DLV?

The difference with the historical campaign is the historically correct start. The main campaign by contrast offers a less predictable game, as there are many more rebel settlements. Personally I find the sacrifice in historical accuracy is worth the improved replayability and faction balance offered by the main campaign.

To me there is DLV and historical DLV, so I guess I consider the main campaign to be 'real' DLV.

BTW if you only want Repman's opinion you could try PMing him

    Oh!BTW

I modify the mtw2.lnt which is from the original 1.5 kingdom.

I can select from the first to the fifth fanction,no CTD.

    but for the sixth, CTD.

Some body said that 31 faction is the official bugs, lol. Isn't it no answer?

I hope DLV can fix it.

maybe, cut down one or two faction?Just my own opiniol.

the mtw2.lnt only support main campaing.

So I copy all the DLV_ext\data\world\maps\campaign\custom\Historical_Campaign files to

    \DLV_ext\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign

and I think that custom\Historical_Campaign files is the real DLV campaign.

but custom campaign only layout 24 country, why?I wonder.

Put the mtw2.lnt into dlv_ext\data\menu and cover the same file.

    Thanks for your answer !!!!

Perhaps, only one real ,historic and stable campaign is enough.

And repman can have more energy to improve the campaign and fix bugs.

I really love your "Battlefield Ballance for DLV". It is so cool.

but some units are too expensive.

I will include it in BB if that is OK with you

Dude, my jaw dropped when I saw the effect of what you have acheived.

So many times I have seen Repman, and others in the community, insisting that this was a hardcoded problem, and I had believed them. I feel a right sucker now that you proved them all wrong.

This improvement you have given us is actually massive!!! It was a major failing of DLV to disallow checking factions out on the faction selection screen. Players love to be able to check factions out like that, of course they do. And now you have afforded us a 500% improvement in our ability to do that.

Bloody amazing, you deserve a medal

I really want to see it in DLV 6.3 or BB 3.0.

    See the word you said.

    I really want to cry.

I think Repman might insist on keeping the historical campaign as well. If there is some way to keep both then it would be perfect.

As it is already I am definately going to include it in BB

    edit:

I noticed some problems with custom battles, the faction icons for the teams were stretched, and a huge unattractive logo for the faction selected placed at the bottom of the list. Solved those issues and enabled all factions for custom battles.

Brilliant, it's just getting better and better

    edit:

BTW you didn't use a kingdoms m2tw.int - It appears you used vanilla. Kingdoms is basically just 4 different mods, what you find in \data for vanilla 1.5 is usualy not kingdoms stuff, the kingdoms stuff is modfoldered.

Oh.I used unpacker tools, and found it in menu file. History campaign is the real dlv,I think. So I had copyed it into imper campaign. Maybe, only one campaign but stable and no bugs is the most importantthing. BTW in my country,it is 2 am.So I have to go to bed. I hope dlv better and better. See you!

It was too late and my mum didn't allow me not to sleep, yesterday.

So some questions are answered in a hurry.

I'm in china. We have 16 hours time difference.

I hope so.But I still insist on keeping one real ,historic and stable campaign. It is enough.

    Yes,I think so.

Maybe, the faction icons are too big.

I installed a very clean kingdoms m2tw.(m2tw 1.3 + kingdoms 1.05) and used unpacker tools.

I copyed the m2tw.int from Medieval II Total War\data\menu,and modify it finally.

    "vanilla" I don't konw.

Wow, good job on making the selection screen more usable Wilking (Wiking?)! +rep
I've tried looking into it myself but never could figure out what to do about it.

It's too bad it requires removing of the Historical, since I actually prefer it to the Main campaign (no matter what Taiji says ) - and I think Repman would not accept removing it just so we can click on more factions in the selections. Still, its a step on the way to perfection - and if you or someone else can make work with the historical campaign as well they will receive the blessing of the Mod Gods

The Danes, I swear, with their half arsed attempts at a 'war'. You gotta give it to 'em, they just dont stop trying. Listen, I've fought the Timurids, ever heard of them? Elephants with cannons on their backs. Yea, Timurids. You guys are like kids on tricycles compared to them. -REZ

DLV include two main canmpaigns -'Custom Campaign' and 'Main Campaign'

'Custom Campaign' is Historical Campaign too.It is very real and historical.I love it.

'Main Campaign' is a slow tempo Campaign like original M2TW.

I aslo actually prefer Historical Campaign to the Main campaign.

So I had copyed all the DLV_ext\data\world\maps\campaign\custom\Historical_Campaign files to

    \DLV_ext\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign.

Very well, so long as DLV get better.

    Anything is ok!

Anyone is allowed to make an AOR for DLV

And this is the suggestions thread.

The thing is that DLV is a mainly contribution based mod. Repman takes the cream of the crop and adds it to DLV along with his scripting ideas.

Personally I don't find the idea of making an AOR very interesting. If you or someone else does then you'll make one, and if it is good enough for Repman then it will get into DLV. BTW you are probably about the 100th person to suggest it, so there is clearly a market for it.

Playing a small faction in the history campaign is fun the first time around. 2nd time, not so fun, because it's too predictable. And playing a large faction is no challenge.

I think for patient and experienced players, the DLV campaign offers more.

But then some are willing to sacrifice much gameplay for historical accuracy. I doubt the predictability or lack of challenge will put them off.

BTW I am not trying to convince anyone of anything, you have my opinion that's all.

Perhaps,we can supply two campaign when setup 6.3 or BB3.0 and player can choose,
or give a easy conversion mode.

I thought it's an error that can't be fixed too, for like forever(years), I didn't even bother checking. Pretty cool and out of the box thinking!
