Default Elven fort in the Misty Mountains

Hi there. I've just started playing this mod, and it's pretty fantastic thus far. Except for one little thing.

I'm playing as the dwarves and have just conquered pretty much everything in the Misty Mountains area. However, my elven allies seem to have constructed a fort inside of the very thin paths of the mountains, trapping me inside unless I want to walk a very, very, very long ways to the exit that isn't blocked. A bit bothersome, especially considering I need to use that blocked exit right now to take out the last orc city and go save Bree from a crusade. It's really cutting me off from the western half of the map.

Is there any way to get rid of this fort or a way to allow me to pass through other than canceling my alliance with the elves, declaring war, and attacking it? I'd really rather not do that. Perhaps a console command?

It is not possible to construct forts in TATW.This fort has been present since the start of the game.

Construction aside, does that mean there's no way through that area if an ally takes it?

Bribe the units; if its in the later stages of the game and you have the scratch.

If it's the fort in the mountain pass appraoching Moria from Ost in Edhhill [sic] then you are 'stuffed', unless you declare war, it is unlikely to contain units to bribe. A bit of a hike should not be a bother for some hardy dwarves, but understand teh frustration as a player

No units in there to bribe, unfortunately.

I just ended up declaring war and taking it. Then I was immediately attacked by a full stack of elves, hah. Cheated to win that one, then cheated in a bunch of cash to smooth things over and reacquire my alliance, trade rights, and military access. I feel bad about cheating, but that whole fort thing seems like a definite oversight. Definitely didn't want to spend an extra 15 turns walking around the mountain range every time I wanted to go west from the heart of my empire.

If you ended up cheating anyways, you probably should have just used the move_character cheat to get around it. Considering they were your allies I really don't think that even constitutes as cheating, as you're merely getting around a limitation of the game engine.

I tried that one, but if I went with the coordinates they weren't registering as being inside the fort, and there's no name to use in place of the coords. No big deal though.

Also, I'm curious. Why is it that the castle in the southern misty mountains is named Moria in one of my campaigns, and is named Khazad-dum in another? O.o

It gets renamed when the dwarves take it.

    Hey, do the maths!

    Code:
    Dwarves+Conquest=Cool
I already said what you said.

I didn't mean move the elves into the fort so you could bribe them, I meant simply move your troops over to the other side of the fort.

The fort propably represents the gate of moria. I had the same
problem in my mordor campaign, as i had moria and OOTMM had the fort.
Really frustrating. I should have backstabed them and taken their few remaining regions anyway
(with about 55 regions, SE, gondor and rohan down, who cares what sauron will say)

I thought the same thing, until I attacked one of Isengards' units because it was blocking me, next turn I'm excommunicated, next turn i have an invasion called on me and Rhun, Harad, and OoTMM declare on me.

I was 20 turns from winning the whole game, then i have my former allies hit me in my backsides... You do not want to displease the dark lord, trust me.

Nothin g is more fun to betray the dark lord just to become the new darklord.

Declare peace with good attack the dark lord and defeat it. Once won declare war on the good ones, be more evil than Da evil.
