Map hard on the eyes.

Hey Guys, Does the high gloss of the map hurt anyone's eyes or just me? I love everything about this game, Just hard to look at the map for long periods of time

Which map? The Campaign or battle map? I don't have any problems though

Ok The italian story maps seem to be fine maybe my eyes just needed to ajust to the new maps, there alot better by far then empires and don't seem to be a problem now....

I agree. For some reason, I just despise the winter maps.

The autumn map is very well done. The fog rolling across the hills is particularly cool...

It does seem overly bright sometimes but then I get used to it. I agree that the campaign maps are a nice little step up.

As nice as it looks, I still have trouble keeping track of boundaries and which region is which. They need to add a political map-mode like in the mini-map where all of a country's regions are in one color. Besides, it would be satisfying to look at a big map of your empire and see your color spreading out all over Europe.

Since they fixed the blurry focus effects I've had that switched on and that has been hard on the eyes until I got adjusted to it. The gloss hasn't bothered me yet.

@danton ah they have that click the goverment tab then select the policies tab and bang a political map of europe covering your factions borders (and how happy they are in each region ) maybe not perfect for what you want but it has the basic idea i find it really good.

Map is sexy as hell all the extra visuals to it yes the full spectrum of season change brilliant but yeah may push older PCS beyond there limit.

Yeah this bothers me too. Its like playing on a blank canvas sometimes. I guess it's hard to make a winter landscape look interesting but maybe some frozen lakes or melted areas where the ground shows through would add some variety.

Anyway I find it annoying how my eyes finally get used to a season when another starts and I get used to that one too and boom another one... It really is a pain with the changing seasons. Also, I can't tell the difference between Spring and Fall...

Hey RLD, try turning off HDR in the game settings, it *might* help making the graphics a bit less bright, if it's bugging you.

I like Spring and Autumn map very much. And answer is NO!

I think winter map in napoleon improved a bit, it was really terrible for eyes in Empire. And in NTW quite acceptable as for me. I clearly rememebr in Empire i couldnt figure out comfortable gamma correction, either it was too dark (whole game has weirdo light, reminds of moon at times) or insanely bright. So far I didnt have such problems with NTW.

Also depends on your own graphic settings. I mean you card, not the game. Take down the brightness if the white is too bright + depends on your screen.
Winter works fine with mine, NTW or ETW so It's possible.

I have not found the map to be anything but gorgeous.
