Default Order of the Knights Templar seems to lack Princesses... and marrying options.

Unless my eyes deceive me, my daughters born to the faction leader do NOT become princesses. Also, it is impossible to facilitate a marriage alliance, as the option is NEVER there, even when your heir is a bachelor.

    Why is that?

No problem. To summarize if someone else searches for this:

Try the descr_sm_factions found in the data folder and look up Knights Templars and change can have princess to yes instead of no. Hope this helps. Ohh you'd have to start a new game for this to take effect as well just so you know.

Nobody knows, out of curiosity, if there's any line to change in order to enable faction heirs to marry Catholic princesses, do they?

Edit: Scratch that. Enabling princesses for your faction also enables you to marry your heir to other princesses.

Good info to know Bane, this will prove helpful to those that wish to edit/mod files.

Correct me if I am wrong ... and I probaly am.

I though that Templars were a knightly order, so unlike a noble family, there is no need at all for princess or any marry option. Since it is a knight orderly, all that should be maintained is that it stays alive ... keeps family members generals no matter if through adoption or birth.

You're correct. Men of the hour and adoption reflect this much better in my eyes.
Additonally there might have been issues with them beeing an emergent faction and having a normal family tree but I don't recall anything specific.

I have only played a little as Templars (Crusader States) ( 125 turns) but I did like the simple military style and order.

If you wish to have a real family tree and same play in same area, try Jerusalem, I find it very appealing and personally challening keep the blood pure (de Boulonge) holding the family name and honor intact.
