    Sorry I'm back now. I didn't do as much work as I had planned (it was, after all, holidays ), but I have balanced all the units. Only Africa, Italy, Gaul, Germania and Britain lack resources, whilst the western third of the map has mercenaries. Since I can't count on being able to do much for in the next three weeks or so due to exam revision and then exams, I'll release the stuff that I did do, which is quite a lot anyway I might do some more mercenary groupings, as they are fairly which work.

    Thus, 0.85 is released

    -Balanced all units previously unbalanced (some 90 of them)*
    -Revised and added to the strat map resources for 80 regions (now 130 of 196 done)**
    -Added a number of new custom battlefields and preview pictures for existing ones
    -Added mercenary groupings for Germania, Greece, Sicily, part of the Balkans, and the Terra Incognita
    -Made new campaign descriptions for Cherusci, Bellovaci, Mauryans, Ptolemies and Pontics
    -Some small tweaks to the map
    -Fixed some bugs on the Armenian Cataphract
    -Some corrections to the recruitment of Indian Elephants

    *That is to say, they are all on the same balancing system. That system may be subject to change, as I intend to do some vigorous tests on it. Anyone up for some multiplayer games?
    **In doing so, bugs including the non-availability of mines and elephants in those regions have been fixed; however, the amount of income given by (especially naval) trade needs attention.


    That's quite a lot of content for now, even if I'd hoped to finish the resources and mercenaries, and make descriptions for all factions (five still have old ones). Those will have to wait for the next Patch, which given the fact that I have exams coming up may be a little while. Anyway, those (or at least the first two of those) will be the priorities for now. Once they are done, I'll see to trying to create some order to my economic system (the naval trade is certainly bugged, a bunch of buildings haven't seen my attention at all yet, and buildings have not yet been properly added to starting regions). Anyway, enjoy!

    The Map Preview is probably the best place to go for map pictures, though I would stress that a lot of regions have changed since then, as well as me adding Yemen on the southern part of the map As for battlefield stuff, that's a bit more tricky. The battlefields aren't the latest RTR/RSII stuff, but are better than Vanilla (I plan to try adding the current RTR/RSII stuff soon). They're also possibly a bit less flat than VII's ones.

    What's wrong with VII's unit cards? I've used those where VII units were involved, but I did have to make a lot myself. I wouldn't say those stand out in any way, which is probably how things are meant to be for unit cards

    So for the first time in about a month, I can contemplate doing some modding Plenty work to do on both FO and VII. I've given Germany its proper resources as a start.

    First off, finish the stuff I was trying to finish for the previous patch. Then do some work on buildings, adding a couple which are missing, and trying to get some balance into the economy

    Thanks It's coming along, gradually. I just gave Britain resources, and earlier added mercenary groups to the rest of Europe which was lacking them (admittedly only ten regions ). Oh, and I made the Mauryans' Persian territories rebel, which is probably more historically accurate. It will hopefully stop the Mauryans from immediately destroying Bactria. I may also make Margiana rebel, if Bactria can't survive. I also plan on making Numidia part of the barbarian minifaction, to spice things up for Carthage.

    After some work on the mercenary groupings, the covered area is far greater - only about 8 or 9 groupings to go (the Steppe, Armenia, and the eastern Persian satrapies). Probably more importantly, the necessary job of adding resources has been completed in Britain and Gaul, leaving just Italy, Africa and the islands in between to do
