    Default Whats the difference?

    Hi Guys,

First of all, cheers for keeping on making such great mods, this really keeps RTW a game to fall back to time after time!

Anyways, i was just wondering, why invest the time in making a medieval mod when there are tons of more modern looking mods for medieval total war 2?

Medieval 2 costs like 3 euro's and performs way better on modern computers then the Rome engine so i see no reason for making medieval based mods for rtw.

    Thanks in advance!

Because no one needs to spend 2k on a computer to play $30 game. RTW has lower system requirements and the fact that you can have a Medieval mod here then M2TW doesn't seem worth it now. These questions are getting extremely annoying, if you don't want to waste your time on this mod then play M2TW. Asking that question and posting this thread wasn't worth it.

Not only that, but Rome Medieval is BEAUTIFUL.

I'd rather keep the fact that I only had to buy RTW in order to play the best the community has to offer.

Rome and Medieval II do different things well IMO. Medieval II has better graphics and such, and is a pretty good SIMULATION of medieval warfare. Rome, to me, is more of an actual GAME, that I can sit down and play repeatedly with different outcomes. Not that you won't have different outcomes in Medieval II, but there's a lot more to do in Medieval II. Rome strikes a nice balance between game, history, and economy (and religion in BI).

The only drawback of Rome that annoys me consistently is the number of faction slots (21, I believe). However, the ability to play it on an average computer (1GB Ram with 256 MB integrated graphics will run it quite well) lets a lot more people enjoy the Total War experience without the need for an expensive computer.

Even though I do have Medieval II / Kingdoms installed as well as Rome / BI, Rome has always been more fun. I love that people are continuing to mod this wonderful game even as it gets older and older.

    Just my 2 cents...

Here is a nice easy answer for you. I have M2TW, and from what I've seen and read about it it's great, and I would love to play it.. BUT MY SYSTEM CAN'T HANDLE IT AND I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!!!!! So we play RM. ^^ Still, RM is pretty good and it's almost another game entirely.

    Darkness beyond twilight
    Crimson beyond blood that flows
Buried in the stream of time is where your power grows
I pledge myself to conquer all the foes who stand
before the mighty gift bestowed in my unworthy hand
Let the fools who stand before me be destroyed
by the power you and I possess
