Default Very heavy lagging/shuttering problem?! This can't be right? (specs posted)

    Hello everyone,

I have never had any games that actually start to lag/shutter in my new built computer and I can't figure out why or what is going on... I am posting my specs here:

    Window 7 64 bit Utlimate
    !7 975 Xtreme 3.33 ghz
Dual HD 5970 Crossfire enabled (I have installed Cat. 10.2 driver)
    6 x 2048 DDR3 1600 mhz Corsair
X-FI titanium fatal1ty (I have updated my sound card and used sound alchemy to add this game to that software list.)
I have two types of hard drive which is 1.5 TB 7200 RPM 32 mb cache HDD

I was able to run ETW smoothy but not in NTW which really puzzled me out. I have maxed out every setting in this game, unless this game is stilll unstable and is not made for high end system just yet? I am trying to figure out on how to make the game running smoothly without lags with high end candy eye graphic with huge number of units.

Any advices on this will be much appericated and I am going to see if this game also is using crossfire mode and multi-core processor.

    Update to 10.3

Some have been able to use Crossfire, most not. May consider disabling it at least to test it.

Set AA, AAA, and AF to application and set them ingame.

After that you will to play with the settings until you find which combination works for you.

    Hello Irishron,

Thank you for taking your time to reply to my post. I wont download Cat. 10.3 until offiical, fuly stable driver is out. I never download any beta driver until they are released as full version for any video card. However, you said about someone being able to enable crossfire in this game? I am not able to find any good tutorial on how to make NTW running dual HD 5970 crossfire enabled? If you know where I can find these tutor, it will be much appericated. However, I disabled SSAO and fog option, I got very large boost in FPS where I get fairly smooth FPS with little shutering problem. I am going to keep tweaking and invesgating this until I get this running right for now until both game patches and video card driver start to stablize both game and HD 5970 crossfire more over time for better performance when running game fullly maxed out.

first off as a side point if that cpu is at stock its a massive bottleneck. that's a heck of a lot of gpu power.

save to say etw and ntw are notorious for not running well on sli/xfire. hit and miss with the drivers/optimisation. There is nothing at all wrong with using beta drivers. am on 10.3 and have been using betas for many yrs. (single 5870). Not quite sure what u are worried about re beta drivers but each to their own

check over at guru.com if there are any 5970 users playing ntw. i think i know one, you could pm him to see which driver he is on. his name is year. ofc xfire 5970 might be even more of a fiddle to get working.

    Totalheadache,

Thank you for the reply with great information. It look like I have to find a way to tweak crossfire profiles to get dual HD 5970 crossfire working with NTW. If you know any good information on how to get crossfire working in NTW for a start, that will be helpful for me. I am looking for good information on this. However, I will also pm year to see which driver he is on and try these new drivers. I appreciate it.
