Default Bring on the hordes! (mod question)

Ok, this is quite possibly a silly question which only serves to prove that I'm a spoiled consumer, but you've probably already realized that that's not going to stop me from asking it anyway. My problem is this: with 'vanilla' Rome (I own BI, but rarely play it) still being my favorite TW game, the feature is miss the most is the inclusion of hordes, which compensates for the rather weak battle AI by throwing lots and lots of barbarians at you. Is there are any mod currently available or in development that allows us to face hordes in the original Rome? That would really make it christmas in march for me.

Well XGM running off BI uses fetures from RTW and BI but it's not possable to port BI to RTW.

Thanks WL. Perhaps I'll give BI another shot.

try the SPQR or RS mod. The AI will come at you with a billion stacks each turn. It is fun and gives you a sense of desperation, but after a while it does get tiring if you're trying to build up an economy or something and you keep getting attacked by 3000-4000 men stacks each turn

I actually did try the SPQR mod, before I switched to the awesome Total Realism. SPQR was quite enjoyable at first, but the combination of endless battles and cheap troops gave me a rather low sense of achievement. Might try it again in the future, though. What's the RS mod?

That's a total mod with real legions (named) it lays the focus on the romans but other factions are fun to play as well, It's historical, AoR recruicement, very much regions and you can choose betwheen 1 turn rec and 0 turn rec. and btw: it's in 1.6a but RS ll is coming out soon

    Hey,
the reason why u probably wont find tjis feature, is because
many mods try to be historically acurate. Since the gauls lived in tribes there werent such thinhs as hordes-so sorry to dissapoint u but i doubt there is such a mod

This thread title is just to loud, to loud.

Leave it to the modder to perfect the works of the paid developers for no profit at all.

RS is awesome. I think it would count as one of my favourite mods. It is quite fast-action paced.
Although if you really want to feel a sense of achievement in battle, try the EB mod. The battles are smaller-scale and less numerous, but every battle is important and sometimes the entire future of your empire or a invasion campaign can hinge on one battle.

RS simply rocks. You can make a total of 3 or 4 legions when you start, just from the City Garissons alone. Plus Movement points are multiplied by 5, and there can be surprises...like when you right click on the edge of the movement zone, you get there and can march another movement zone. You can move from Rome to Tarentum in a turn.
when the union's inspiration through the worker's blood shall run,
there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun,
yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
but the union makes us strong.

yea RS has quite an arcady feel to it, but it's really good fun. really all out war with RS. Being brilliant on the battlefield in RS is just as important as being brilliant on the campaign map because of the sheer number of enemy troops you have to fight against (if you over-extend your lines while marching into Gaul in the midst of winter, prepare for a world of hurt as they swarm in from any opening you've left along your supply/reinforcement lines.
