I can't wait for this series....

It starts this Sunday, March 14th, 9 PM EST here in the US.

For anyone who hasn't heard about it, its the story of the US Marines in the Pacific theater of World War II. Unlike its predecessor Band of Brothers, The Pacific centers on the stories of three Marines instead of an entire Company. It's based upon two books, Helmet for my Pillow, and With the Old Breed, written by two of the men that comprise the three main characters in the series.

Here is an excellent half hour preview for the show that has been playing on HBO recently.

"WE WILL SMITE THE INVADERS FROM OUR SKIES! Though they sweep over our lands like the sands of winter, never again will we bow before them; never again endure their oppression; never again endure their tyranny. We will strike without warning and without mercy, fighting as one hand, one heart, one soul. We will shatter their dreams and haunt their nightmares, drenching our ancestors' graves with their blood. And as our last breath tears at their lungs; as we rise again from the ruins of our cities...they will know: Helghan belongs to the Helghast." -Scholar Visari

You would have thought they would have expected it, declaring war on the United States and all.
    Bitter is the wind tonight,
it stirs up the white-waved sea.
I do not fear the coursing of the Irish sea
by the fierce warriors of Lothlind.
