Default Question regarding flaming arrows vs siege weapons

Hey all, just looking for some hard numbers on what makes siege equipment burn in SS 6.2, RR/RC. I've always just accepted that the AI burns my towers down way faster than I can burn theirs, but just lost 3 towers and a ram to 3 units of archers before they even hit the walls.

Now, they were Welsh Longbowmen so decent archers, but wondering if their attack stat effects how quickly they burn towers? For example, does a tower need to take X flame damage before it burns, with every flaming arrow that hits the tower causing Y damage equal to the archers attack stat? This would make the most logical sense to me, but I expect its not how its done.

If anyone could enlighten me as to the exact nature of how towers/siege weapons burn, that would be greatly appreciated.

(Was originally posted in RR/RC forum, if an admin see's this, can they please delete that post, thanks!)

I don't know any numbers, but I think their projectile has more to do with this that their attack value. I can be wrong, though.

Would make sense, flaming projectiles from the towers should do more than a regular arrow. Anyone know the numbers to back this up? Just wondering if its solely a chance for a tower to catch fire, which goes up the more flaming projectiles hit it and different projectiles have different chances?

    Canon towers beat balista towers

No, I don't even know where to look for numbers (if there aren't any, feel free to blame CA). Maybe descr_projectile.txt?

Cannon towers have a longer range but recharge slower?

My chance of taking down Siege Equipment is 1 in 3, every three sieges I at least destroy 1 Siege Equipment.

Because of that I only use ladders, I learn in the hardest way that no matter how many siege towers i have they will burn like dry grass, when am defending using heavy cavalry to delay enemy towers and keeping the archers shooting make me win the day.

cant answer your question but i must say the few times i've managed to burn down ai towers the most satisfying time was when (not entirely sure how...) i managed to burn a tower down that had about half a unit of dfk's in it... fun times!

edit: as in it was already at the walls, and i managed to get a unit of archers to target it. i dont think thats normally possible when its deployed at the walls. but it happened!

I took a look into descr_projectiles.txt, but I couldn't find any numbers regarding burning towers. Maybe you shoud ask in the Mod Workshop? I'm sure there's someone around on the forums who knows the numbers!

    Some notes on that:

    Might have been to high.

Based on that, it should be modable somewhere, but I don't know where to look.
