Dunedain Knights seem more powerful than they look

Last time when I took 1000 goblins vs Gandalf 45 knights, they managed to kill 200

Most of my troops are goblin infantry and there are 200 halberdiers.

they charged only once at the beginning (killing 30 - 40) so mostly they slaughtered my 200 goblins (including about 100 halberdiers) using normal attack. I think Dunedain Knights' ATK is only 7 and DEF 16. How can they be so powerful?

most likely because goblins sucks but Gandalf also adds up a lot to their strength.

They have ap-ability so I guess that helps.
