Default Graphics card overheats on campaign map

First off, I run a AMD 955 quad core, geforce 8800gt 512mb, 4gb of ddr3 ram. In every other game I've played, I've never had graphics card heating problems but this is ridiculous. The fan gets so loud on top of the fact that it gets close to 90C. My case has 4 120mm fans and the cpu is adequately cooled as well so I'm pretty sure its not a design problem. If this a problem with the 8800gt, then could someone recomend me a better card that will for sure run cooler because I would really like to play this game without an extremely loud fan. Again though, it only happens on the campaign map, not any of the battles.

It sounds like a good coating of dust oin the card. Try it with the cover off a nd a fan blowing into the case and see if it makes a difference.

The card is fairly new and dust free so I don't believe that to be the problem. Everything on the computer is clean as well. I do know that the card is placed in the MOBO upside down , dont really know if that has anything to do with it. I just find it strange that it can handle huge battles but not a simple campaign map. really quite strange.

verify the cpu temps, maybe you don't have a correct airflow
