Not me. I find it pointless. Just tires out your horses very weakly. It has no negative morale bonus against the unit fired upon to represent the constant stream of arrows rather than a single volley so it is basically useless.

also, if the enemy charges at you while your doing it, the cav just don't move and get killed

actually it can be very useful when used in a missile standoff, your HA against his archers, slingers, ect.... a moving target is always harder to hit. Though I agree with "dbug" they do tend sometimes not to get out of the way fast enough when charged.

Has nothing to do with a "moving target." It has everything to do with the fact that the mass of horses is now a hollow circle and the enemy is trying to hit the edges. Archers/slingers etc don't aim at individual targets but clumps of troops.

In my experience, it's actually a bad thing against slingers - since they fire on a plane rather than an arc, they've got a really good shot at hitting *something* until the HA formation starts to get ragged.
I beat back their first attack with ease. Properly employed, E's can be very deadly, deadlier even than P's and Z's, though they're not as lethal as Paula Abdul or Right Said Fred.

cantabrian circle allows horse archer units to slaughter foot archers while taking minimal casualties

(unrelated to EB), but I once had 10 G/G archer auxilla lose to 8 units of G/G persian cav in an online match. However, running the circle makes HA very tired and allows even heavy cav to catch them
