    Default Building Roman Galleys

I am always curious about this: how much time do people need to invest in order to build galleys in general?
Just so that the answer wouldn't be vague, you can answer in categories.
    1. Bireme
    2. Trireme
    3. Quinqueremes and Polyremes
If you have one, sources are greatly appreciated.

    Triremes: According to wiki:
"The construction of a trireme was expensive and required around 6000 man-days of labor to complete."

    Again according to wiki:
The reconstruction of a trireme some years ago in greece (Olympias) took in total two years to complete. But the time from laying down to launching was about 1 month.

The Athenians of 5th cent. BC, who were regarded as the masters of triremes, could achieve astonishing times for the construction of a trireme.

As I said in your other thread ,this is not the way to start a debate in the VV. YOu have to make some sort of effort with your opening post .I would start in this instance with a well thought out question with maybe some pictures or something similar.

Sorry Demetrios2008 as you have made the effort to answer his question just as i'm about to...
