Default CLOSED- Converting .m4a to .mp3 or the like?

    EDIT: Don't worry about it

    Hey all

I'm doing a video scrapbook for school, and I need some help converting songs. I'm just using windows movie maker, however it won't work with .m4a and I don't feel like messing around with codecs. Do you know of a program that can convert .m4a to a file that movie maker can use, like .mp3?

Thanks, and I'll rep you if I can

    You can always google it.

But I believe that Media Player Classic has that function too.

Just open up the .m4a file in MPC > File > Save As > .mp3 file

I already have, but I don't want to use some random third party program. And I can't open the file in Media Player, as I don't have codecs for it.. I guess? I'm not familiar with codecs

Comes with Media Player Classic (different from Windows Media Player). I've been using it for quite some time now, so it won't screw up your computer.

Media player classic won't let me chose the file type. It just says save as "all file types".... ?

Ah, I guess I won't jack with it. I'll just burn it onto a cd, and then rip back into media player. Thanks for the help anyways.
