Hello,
I am trying Rome Surrectum at the moment and I kinda like the zoomed in campaign map, with crowded indy towns and all but one thing freaked me out enough to stop playing... The ship speed.
I started as Syracuse as it is the first time I've seen this faction playable and I thought I'd be nice and warm squeezed in between Rome and Carthage ^^ I start with a spy, a diplomat and several armies and generals, and they all have a pretty wide area of move (the spy could nearly walk Syracuse-Lylibaeum-Syracuse in one turn). A few turns pass, i decide to send my diplomat abroad to sign some treaties here and there, build up a ship, load the diplomat and... get screwed! The ship area of move is the same as in Vanilla!!! The problem is the map is way zoomed in so it is like if the ship go way slower... I figured out that it is actually faster to unload the diplomat in Italy and make him walk all around than to ship it to Greece...
Come on the game is 2 turns / year and it can't take several years to sail from Sicily to Greece, even back then! Tell me if I've got it wrong.
