So I've played through two very enjoyable grand campaigns as Britain and George III stayed alive the whole time in both. Is that hard coded, or can George and other faction leaders die?

Well thats kinda dissapointing. Thanks for the answer!
George III reigned until 1820 and the game lasts only to 1812, so i don't see what's the problem.
Never been an issue in past version, the leaders always die regardless of thier actual timetables.
Its not a deal breaker, just saying.
probably because this is the first total war game that takes place over weeks and not years.
I did get a little bored of Georgie, time for a revolution ingame :p
Nobody expects the Imperial Inquisition
In my GB campaign George died after some 100 turns. The next king was William IV. So yeah he can die.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.
Tosa will be missed.
Wasn't George suffering from Gunther's Disease (causes insanity) at this time?

King George died in my Campaign as well, in January 1807 - I reloaded the game however and kept doing the death turn until he didn't die, though, as: "O'er the hills and o'er the main, Through Flanders Portugal and Spain
King Will commands and we obey - Over the hills and far away." doesn't quite sound as good.![]()
