Steam Con?

i posted looking for someone to play a campaign game with on the multi player section.

I got a private message from sailist saying

When i lick on add friend it tries to run a programme, this a con?

Ive just tested this by trying to add a random friend of a friend. Does the same and I logged in to the community by going to google searching for steam, then going to the linl, so I think it's just a broken webpage function. Try searching for the user name via the actual steam App's search function and see what happens.

Might be, thought the program it's trying to run is just Steam. See here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=337760

it hasn't ever asked to opena aprogramme etc when i have added people, just tried it with someone random and it didn't do it.

I just tried it, it just adds him to your friends list, or invites. Just be careful typing your account name and password, whenever that happens your prompted and you know you shouldn't have to, close steam and relaunch through the EXE.
