I am a little mystified by the packs. When I try to open patch4.pack or any other pack with DBE (latest, but also with previous versions), in the header it always says patch2.pack, read only file from CA. And by looking at the db info I know that the data is not current, therefore it is not opening patch4.pack.

So I'm trying to take another approach but I need some questions answered to better understand the thing.

1.- Supposedly the game reads only patch4.pack, right?

2.- If yes, then why are patch.pack, patch2, patch3 still sitting there and wasting a lot of hard disk? Could I delete them?

3.- Now suppose I were to rename one of the other patchpacks (say patch2) to patch4.pack and place it in the data folder instead of the current patch4.pack. Would this revert my unit data to happier times (previous versions)?
