Taking India

I've been exchanging emails about ETW with a friend who loves the game too.
He spend more time than me so he went to India first and his experience was rather scary.
He said that Indians are extremely strong and numerous. he landed 2 armies there and got 4 marching on him and he was wiped in no time. He said he was doubting he could complete the game before 1800.

So I was pretty scared. I came in with 3 armies. I took Ceylan which was a rebel state. Netherland has been wiped out a long time ago by me (French). I waited my armies coming fro America and Europe. Canons. Howitzers and Mortars. It did marvel. I've taken carnatica, Bengal and Mysore rather quickly and with minimum casualty.

I got a counter attack on Mysore which has been repelled with great damage to the Indians. So, it wasn't so hard actually.

I know that he favored infantry a lot, so he probably faced the Indian in hand to hand combat which is not a good idea with these long machete guys. Mortars and Howitzers do marvel I believe. I'm quite confident now that I'm closed from completing the game: 1755. I should be done by 1760, 1770. I think I will take the whole of India to make the game longer in fact.

Ah yeah. Forgot to mention that an embargo on Maratha's port does wonder too. I've destroyed its entire navy in one battle with just one 2nd rate. My ship took little damage its ship has one boat left.

i cruise the coast and raid every port I can put my cannon on.
