How do I beat Ireland?

Playing h/h as Scots. I'm terrified to engage them with any of my generals, since the typical Irish army consists of no less than 8 catapaults. The rest of the make up is mostly jav cav and skirmishers. My infantry is devastated by the skirmishers, my cavalry by their missile and heavy cav, and I have to run at them from one side to the other or I lose hundreds of men to cata fire. Is there a more efficient way?

Well if you know by now catapults are very inaccurate. I suggest using fire to fight fire. Basically using lots of calvary to attack them because your infantry won't work in such situations. Thus when fighting a pure cav and cata army just use ALL cav.

I think you have Hobbiguirs, don`t you ? They are fast ! Not great but the fact that they are fast along with a good general and some heavy cavalry too help a lot. Use the fastest cavalry you have to hit as hard as you can and as fast as you can.
