    Default Mount&Blade: Total War?

Wouldn't it be cool? Mount and Blade has all the potential for a strategy game, except it's more rpg focused. But it has everything, a tiered unit tree, factions and their respective themes, a map, settlements.

So in medieval 2 it would be exactly as it is in the Taleworlds game.

5 Factions - Vaegir, Swadia, Rhodoks, Nords and Khergits

Each faction with it's respective unit tree.

The map would be the same, divided by the 5 factions.

It's a relatively small mod to do actually, there are already the textures which a modeler could use. I don't know.

This is all an idea of a mod I would like to play. Don't even know if already exists or if someone already proposed something like this.

Actually is plausible, a small mod like this would be actually great. Kinda like Brittannia campaign it would be with culture based AOR etc. And admittedly, wouldnt be hard to be done.

Coming to think about it, a Mount and Blade campaign should be generally fast. No castle/city switch, the majority of the conventional buildings off, no slave/rebel faction around, or have it isolated somewhere, with 5 factions you can easily have +5 shadowfactions as rebellions. And there you have it. All it takes from that is to reskin a good 50-60 units from M2TW and you have it.

Well it was just an idea I don't know how to mod except 2D art and text stuff.

Besides im busy with Warcraft Total War.

Just an idea really, but if someone suddenly felt like doing it would be very good

Yes, this sounds like a good idea. I may know squat about modding, but you have my vote of confidence nonetheless.

My one and only problem is that there are no real defined borders in M&B, just what cities belong to who. The poor soul stuck with making up provincial borders will have to rely on pure guess work and disagreements will probably arise between people thinking a certain province should be this big, or the Vaegirs should control this much, etc.

But, again, I don't know a thing about modding, so who am I to talk.

If people always looking for excuses for arguments, then no mod would be completed..... oh wait, no mods gets completed. These are far too small disagreements to let them ruin the work. You have the cities, you have the castles, the general territory, think and make, its not that hard. And so what if a faction has less provinces? Or more? Or stronger units, or weaker, or whatever. Shut up and play it, why? Vanilla M2TW is better?

You dont need to use the M&B textures and skins. Reskinning a good amount of vanilla units works as well.

Yes, I realize that! What I was trying to say was that you were right BECAUSE I know nothing about modding.

Six with the newest addition, Sarranids. Don't know if it's ethical (or legal) to use their textures though...
