A great victory my lord

Has anyone managed to lose a battle after the advisor says this to you?

I almost did, in my Italian campaign my full stack with Napoleon was fighting a crucial battle against the Sardinians, all my men except for my chasseurs and Guarde Nationale when the voice came on. Little did I know that they had 3 units left of line infantry, my cannons managed to do the job in the ned but I was a bit scared for a second.

The advisor has developed a bit of an attitude it seems?

Yep!

I got the great victory advise just before enemy reinforcements turned up and promptly stomped all over my shattered army!

I probably coudl have defeated the reinforcements if I hadn't have let my army chase down routing enemies but with my units fatigued and spread over the map I couldn't consolidate a position fast enough and my untis just got picked off one at a time, the most valiant defence was by two artillery units who fought off quite a few cavalry with grape shot until they got surrounded.

He is a bit premature in saying that sometimes. I recall a few occasions when things turned ugly after he proclaimed victory.

Yep, "Victory is yours my lord" and then HOLY 2 units of curiassiers turn up and wipe my remaining Light infantry regiments......
Needles to say I wasn't amused

He said that on Waterloo just before the Prussians turned up and smashed my flank...

I managed to win an MP (quick) battle after the advisor said "defeat is almost certain".

Yeah...
I think it was Rome or MTW where the advisor said "Only a miracle or a strategic genius can achieve victory for us now"... (at least that's what he said in the German version)

The advisor also says this when you hit the barrage button on cannons!
