I love N:TW

It would be great to see the soldiers wearing outer coats at times of cold temperatures/winter though.

Me also, But it'll be great if they did it.

There should be a trigger in the game that "converts" the models when it is winter. Once it's over, soldiers could wear their normal uniforms. Yes, would be nice!

this had been asked since ntw was announced. the devs and community guys that visit here have ignored such requests.

however, i'm sure you can reskin the prussian militia or opolchenie since they have coats

If the unifrom editor lets you change them mid campaign then you can have a different fashion every month!

how about thongs in Egypt, because no one wants to see those ungodly tan lines

I was wondering why the Russian soldiers did not wear long coats as I thought they did.

I support this. It would be really awesome to have units in winter-coats. Ofcourse this should apply to all factions, and not only in Russia, but whenever you fight a battle in a snowy landscape. Would definately add alot of immersion.

The only problem i see with this idea is the winter attrition, would the soldiers still suffer during the winter if they had coats? If not then it makes the seasons a bit less relevant.

No. The French army historically had winter coats, yet still suffered from the cold. Atleast I think so, please correct me if I am wrong, but I find it highly unlikely that Napoleon marched towards Moscow without proper winter clothes for his troops.

I wasnt thinking about it historically, i can just here the rants now... "why do my men die in the winter, they have coats!"

this thread is taking a childish turn, with this talk about the coats, and the cold.
comom, of course napoleons troops had coats, and gloves.

Because Russian winters arent stopped by a little jacket and the fact that people shot at them...

And your face will be frozen off, and its hard to find food etc...

Not to mention frostbite, hypothermia. etc...

I can see it now....
