Multiplayer campaign stuck

So I'm playing a multiplayer campaign with a friend online and one of my cities is attacked by an AI nation, the battle screen opens showing commanders, armies and battle odds etc. However all options, surrender, attack on map and auto resolve are greyed out, I can't do anything, we've waited etc and nothing has changed.

What should I do???

Anyone got the solution? I can't be the first person to suffer this, surely.

To me it sounds like time for you and your friend start an ew campaing.

Did the game freeze or lose connectiom and freeze?

I have the same problem, and in the official totalwar forums, are many with this problem, so the campaign is unplayable in coop(together and not against each other) at this time

And if we restart the game, 3-4 rounds and its the same bug
