How many times am I going to build roads in my empire? no matter which era; rome, medieval, empire, and Napoleon you still start the game with out even dirt roads. I'm not really complaining about it, I just think its kind of ridiculous that Berlin circa 1805 didn't have dirt roads yet. Why do you think we have to rebuild the roads every day from the bare minimum? for the sake of having to build stuff?

i've been thinking the same. it's indeed a bit silly to build dirtroads in 1800+. well, we have to live with it i reckon.

Ya, I've been building roads in Europe for centuries! Every few hundred years my paved roads get degraded back to nothing and I gotta start from dirt again.

It is kind of mysterious how all those metalled roads I built all over Europe in Empire have vanished.
They could have gone with something like 'border posts' or maybe some form of internal security troops/police/whatever or something. That would make more sense in the 19th century.
Maybe a modder can replace it. -

Roads are just the tangible stand-in for general "infrastructure" improvements. If it bothers you that much, just consider yourself building new roads, instead of rebuilding the metalled ones that were built in Empire. There's always new routes to develop, after all.
