SirDCC's NTW Texture Thread (Updated 14th March)

I hope very good modding tools come out and you edit the general, because wouldn't of the Duke of Wellington be more recognizable wearing his dark long coat or the blue one in the Peninsular War like this one??
By the way nice work on the old guard

Very early days for skinning until we see what the uniform editor will do. I'm having alot of trouble saving anything I edit for some reason
I do like wellington in blue and as u said it will make him stand out more

With regards to Picton, he only wore civies at waterloo because his baggage hadn't caught up with him by that point. Since the Coalition campaign only goes to 1812, that he is wearing uniform is accurate. Although I think the top hat is a nod to waterloo really, there's no indication he wore it in battle at any other time.

I've read this b4 but I do like Picton in civvies like in the film Waterloo & in one of the Sharpe films he's dressed all in black with a top hat hitting troops with his umbrella

For the old guard I've found a smaller texture for the bearskin but it don't show in game so I'm guessing that this is for the uniform editor so for now it's the big DDS and cuz the uniforms are shared by other units it's hard to do much with them
Also I wanted to colour the top of the Old Guard bearskin red but where as u would block this on the gloss alpha, it don't seem to be there so once again I'm guessing, it's something to do with the mask file in there?

A fairly easy retexture to do would be changing the redcoats white pants to Grey pants. I'm no expert, but I thought thats what they wore at this time.

Are you able to fix them to look like this with the correct cording (the red cording on the hat is for the Old Guard artillery) and eagle face plate?

The one I've made does have an eagle helmet plate but my photoshop is playing up and keeps crashing when I try and save gloss/normal file so the eagle don't show so good as the old gloss/normal mess it up.
I have also already done a version with white cord & a red crown but I've been trying to get my PS to save the gloss/normal so I could put out a finished skin.

I can put that up as is if you like but as I said the eagle will still be messed up for now ..

Just tested it in custom & campaign & it seems ok

I sometimes get white uniforms, but I think this is a bug ...
Try taking out the patch & putting it back in a few times, if it's the patch they should turn white each time u use it mate ..

THe white thing happened when i tried the patch with my current French campaign - it wasn't the OG uniforms that were white but everyone...

Anyhow, as you suggested, I took it out, ran the game without it, and then put it back again. Just tied again with custom battle and worked OK (nice work as ever, old bean - a vast improvement!). I will try again with campaign later.
