You can disregard this one too. I found the link. Unfortunately, I installed the sound mod but no music. Comments?

Yes. It's me again. The control of the Range being 85 is not what I got. Also, I have Lancers and I believe I'm not suppose to get those a while. The formations are correct and the speed, but something with the land units is amiss.

I've gone in and deleted anything resembling a mod, verified the file through Steam and reinstalled, but not luck. Any comments? Suggestions?

Disregard that. It's very interesting the way you did that. I like it.

An other problem I encounter is that more than often, enemy cavalry units initiate melee without charging, simply moving against my line of battle, as if they were regular infantry. I never had this problem with the previous versions of NER. This happens a lot during historical campaigns. Is that working as intended ? I can see that charge values have been greatly lowered for cavalry, may be this has something to do with that ? Or do I encounter some bugs ?

Is it me or the cavalry is very weak with this mod installed ? Even Elite units are unable to shake enemy infantry.

It’s good to have NER updated I have missed playing NTW using it since the last patch came out. I have also noticed that the cavalry are next to useless. In one battle I charged French fusiliers with a unit of Dragoons and they fell to pieces as soon as they hit them. The horses almost immediately just dropped dead in melee. In another battle I charged my group of 3 units of cavalry into advancing French and my cavalry disintegrated within 10 seconds. The enemy were not in square formation in either of these engagements’. Surely others have noticed this.
My computer is really struggling with the large units especially the cavalry sizes. JaM you are doing a fine job on this but would you please have a version of the mod with Vanilla sized units for those of us who are having problems. I’m not wanting you to remove the current version just to have another link with vanilla sized units. Cheers!!

as mentioned before - experience points are very important - NER is concentrated on Campaign play - units are recruited with EXP points. You CANT expect to get proper results from quick battles where every unit has 0 EXP... Try giving Elite unit 6-7 exp points and then try to charge some infantry... you will see completly different story. And that is how it works in Campaign play... Guard units are recruited with 4-8 exp points and they are very powerful, but their numbers are limited. But if any of your normal units gains 4-5 exp points, its stats will be comparable to Guard units.. just if they loose too many men, replacements will reduce overall unit experience and unit will loose its effectivity....

Well, I haven't really noticed cavalry being useless, but charging confident or eager infantry in good order from the front rarely ends well for the cav though. Hit them with artillery and musket fire and then charge your cav into their flank or rear when they're shaken or wavering. That usually routs them in a few seconds.

nigelnire: if you want vanilla numbers all you need to do is NOT use multiplier... just put it back to 1

Do you mean in the preferences script JaM ? because my setting is already at 1 but I’m getting 100 sized cavalry units and 200 line.

    campaign_unit_multiplier 1; # campaign_unit_multiplier <float>,

I previously used 1.25 with NER and it was great 200 line 75 cavalry ,140 lights but the 100 sized cavaly units seem to be hitting my FPS very hard.
One of the things I really like about NER is the way the units break and run after taking realistic numbers of casualties. The vanilla settings where a unit will stand and fight with around 20 men is ridiculous.

btw, as mentioned before - next version will contain updated unit sizes(multiplier 2) with infantry regiments 320 men strong, battalions 160 men, independent companies 80 men. Cavalry units will represent 2-3 squadrons (we could call it regiment) with 240 men.

This will make dismountable units relativly usefull again - chaseur chevals will be practically similar to infatry chaseurs (but with more experience) so if needed player will be able to use them also as infantry with good firepower or 240 men. Same will be possible with Dragoons, but they will be more like heavy infantry ( chaseurs will outrun normal infantry, dragoons on foot will not)

one of the things which will be adjusted in next version is armor values - plate armor will matter more.. Cuirassiers will get big armor bonus, and they will be very dangerous in melee combat. of course they will be not counted as guard units so experience wise they will be comparable to Dragoons - so even with armor bonus, elite Guard units might have chance against them.

Another change will be reworked eastern units (for Egypt campaign) where they will use more eastern like tactics with infantry and cavalry (no longer perfect lines but more like mob formations, etc...)

Just happy that the NER-team is at last coming out with the goodness that will let me and so many others to enjoy the game again. I mean, I played the vanilla expansion for several hours before giving up in disgust, and not played since.
