Really... its because EVERYTHING Is Different from vanilla to me in this game, its got more realistic battles, and ALOT more provinces and new factions and units, its just an epic mod to be honest!

Expanded map to NW India, includes 4 religions and depending on campaign some emergent factions. New factions, units, and so many sub-mods that add difficulty, or special emphasis on a certain region or faction and not many BUGS! From playing other mods and getting frequent CTD that is actually a big deal for how many things were changed.

    Illuminato,

I was introduced to SS in May 2008 and I have never gone back to vanilla since. This mod is totally immersive, infact it is an addiction for me and most of all is fun to play. The Sub Mods, such Real Recruitment/Real Combat, BGR, Battle For the Baltic and a host of other sub mods, take the game to another level. I for one ar every appreciative of all the effort our great group of modders do.

Third Age and Stainless Steel both have the same "core" member : King Kong.

King Kong is Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris is Mr. T. Thusly, King Kong is Chuck Norris and Mr. T in one. Thusly, he is made of 1565% win and success. That's why he truly doesn't exist in this world; it would explode in that case. Instead, he's so awesome, he made a computer that send messages and post things into other dimensions.

On a serious note, Stainless Steel is awesome. I picked it up after asking in the main forum : "What mod do people use for M2TW?" they answered "Stainless Steel." I tried it, and I was blown away by the detail and love put into it. It's a must get. Plus, it's free!

I thought that was the serious part. I'll post your theological theory in the worship thread, if you don't mind.

It really does make Medieval II better than SEGA ever would've bothered to, even if they could make us pay for patches. I'd rather play this than Medieval III to be honest, looking at what they've done with Empire and Napoleon, making them "Steam Only"*...

    But yeah, play it.

    *Steam Only =

yeah vanilla releases tend to lean towards mediocrity because they don't want to alienate people with a game that's too difficult. After a couple games, once you learn the ins and outs, you can kick Vanilla ass easily. Playing SS, one turn i looked at my situation and i said, hmmm, i'm not gonna win this game ... then i thought about that some more, and then i thought, KICK ASS!

Words of wisdom my friend. Words of wisdom.

Also, there is no other Medieval game on the horizon, so this is it really, at least for a few years anyway.

Untill Rome II is released (if ever) and I still have to see how good it will be. I hope (but don't believe) they will fix the sieges and I no longer hope they will make it easier to mod.
Till then, SS + RR/RC + BGRIV provides quite a challange.
