Campaign of the Coalition: France asks for peace?

Playing as GB and i just sacked Spain finally, id also knocked out the Batavarian(sp?) Faction, one of Frances few allies, so immediately after i sacked Spain France asks for peace!!

Anyone else have this happen?

Good god sir! I hope you didn't accept!

(And yes it did happen to me in my Prussian game)

All Napoleon wanted was peace. Seems right to me.

I agree with this but something is fishy.

He killed many.

He tried to take over things which was not possible.

I think if you ask me what did napoleon hate the most i would say the Austrians.

it has been offered twice or thrice to me. i laughed at the first attempt and shrugged off the others.

what, you take out half of Prussia and almost all of Austria and you want reconciliation?

It wouldn't be right to accept it, but it seems right that Napoleon would ask for peace from time to time. Actually it wouldn't be abhorrently historically inaccurate to accept it just to get a little breather (like before 1803).

Oh by all means ask for peace. That's ok. No problems there, after all, losing two allies in quick succession to your most hated rival who now advances from all sides isn't a nice place to be.

I merely said the idea of accepting his proposal is wrong

No, I just have a mild case of Francophilia. I could be French but there's nothing less interesting or relevant to me than my ancestry, so who knows.

Well, I would accept the peace. I don't mind having peace or an alliance with France as Prussia and then turn on Austria. I have got a couple of their territories before Napy declared war on me.

I plan to making France a protectorate just so I could give Nappy troublesome regions in my borders and have him pawn my enemies.

I accepted peace when Nappy was down to Corsica. Nothing happened. Later I backstabbed him because the AI sooooooo deserves to be backstabbed after all the times it's done that to me.

The Coalition Campaign isn't scripted: it's like the Grand Campaign in ETW though its neither Grand nor a Campaign to be honest, more like a backstreet brawl.

so let me get this right, you can actually get a peace treaty? Say if i'm russia can i make peace with france or is it scripted to be always war?

I did just say it isn't scripted. So yes you can make peace.

I 've taken 3/4 of France's possessions and killed him 3 times + Massena,Lannes and McDonald but they havn't asked for peace,not that I'd give it. They;d be able to rebuild their ports and new fleets.It's a shame France isn't a bit stronger in the CG. I'm playing British on h.h and starting to enjoy NTW now I've added some mods, flags,bagpipes,fire by rank,x2.5 unit size,musket sounds,AUM etc. It's quite good fun except not historical.
