Can't build grenadiers?

Hi, i'm on my third campaign now and have only just noticed that in any region or barracks level I can't build grenadiers, they are also not listed on the units that will or are available to be build when right clicking has anyone experienced this or have any idea what to do?

which faction are you?great britain for example doesnt have grenadiers in the roster

1. you need 3rd level barracks
2. GB doesn't have them

It's a pity GB doesn't have them

I find it quite odd that they didn't include GB 1st Grenadier Guards Unit. It's basically the second oldest unit serving the monarchs and the 3rd oldest unit in GB Army. Plus they were present in the battle of waterloo and several other battles in the Napoleonic Wars if I'm correct.

One word: Balance. Great Britain already has many great units to make up for it.

GB were the first to disband Grenadiers I believe; not only that, they barely had any units of Grenadiers to begin with.

In that case, we are not training or building men/grenadiers but creating pre-made rendered objects.

That's bull; I think they shouldn't pull punches just for the sake of "balance". I hope they release them as a DLC if anything. Also, where the hell are the Coldstreams? I can imagine they'll come out eventually, along with France's Middle Guard and Hussars.

I'm not entirely sure, but I believe the British preferred using the mass volley fire rather than using grenades. Probably thought the backfires from early grenades were too costly on troops. And as far as getting replacements, no, I don't think so. I think they just used more line infantry to cover up for that.

British grenadiers, coldstream guard, middle guard of France...etc. They'll probably be released soon...as paid DLC units, I believe.

Strange that the British dont have grenadiers also in custom battles.

I remember CA gave a specific reason for not including them - they wanted to make the factions more diverse and so didn't want to give Britain grenadiers (as well as the fact that they didn't use grenades in this period).
