Steam Activation Problem

Hello, first of all let me apologise for yet another installation thread, please let me assure you i have looked on many a previous thread and cant find a situation replicable to mine.

Ive had the game for 5 days now, and obviously you need Steam to install it, However, my steam never connects, i get the usual login page, then click connect and then i am left waiting for it to connect for eternity. Every hour pretty much for the last week I have tried to re-login etc.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

PS. It really is hell having the case sitting here and not being able to play it.

Have you re-installed steam? Try doing that. And take a look at the troubleshoot thread which is stickied at the top of these forums.

Is there any chance my playing of Football Manager could be affected by uninstalling steam?

Not entirely sure, but you should always back up your game files before doing anything like uninstalling a game service provider like Steam. I would check on the steam forums, but it shouldn't.

Steam just patched their client. Update it and try, again.
