I started a Dwarven campaign and at about turn 30 Eriador and Harad has TONS of money, about 70k each! WTF?!? I also lowered their starting settlements' population before starting the campaign, and they are still grinding money!![]()

Hu?
Normally this should kick in and prevent things like you describe:
Are you sure your campaign_script.txt is running? You can find out by just starting a new campaign and look if the welcome-event scroll is popping up. Furthermore you can check your system.log.txt for errors (keep in mind to set it on trace in the TATW.cfg)
Of course, if their empires are to big and they're therefore earning way to much money, lets say 20k a round, this script will only do little to solve your problem, nor will it force the AI to spend the money in any way! You can change the add_money "factionname" - 5000 line to an amount of money you like, but take note, that changes to campaign_script.txt will only take effect when you start a new campaign. All in all your problem is due to the AI not knowing what to do with its money...
OMG i don't remember if this "welcoming scroll" appeared. How does it looks? O.o
Anyway, my question is slightly different. I'm curious about HOW they could make all those moneys. As i said, i slightly lowered their population, just to prevent that (i heard they usually become too rich) and i didn't expect they would still make those amount of gold.
Maybe they aren't building or recruiting at all, but i tried toggle_fow and it doesn't seem: Harad had occupied several neutral cities and pushed back a Gondorian counteroffensive. Eriador didn't expanded except a single settlement but its armies are on the road and battling the OotMM.
The AI gets heavy financial support each round when their treasury is low, so they never run out of money.
If they pile great amounts of money they either do not spend it or have substential income via taxes, farms and/or trade.
You'll have to reinstall the whole game (that includes Medieval 2 and Kingdoms) to get it working.
A few other people had this problem too and they said that reinstalling only TATW didn't help.
