I find that Napoleon total war is the best TW, but as all the games, some things might be improved. So it's a constructive thread, please. What are your proposals for improving this game in a patch?

    here are mine:
-There's again a lack of maps and in custom battle specificaly. I would like they unlock the historical maps they put in multiplayer to make them playable in singleplayer (because it's only in singleplayer that we can modify number of soldiers). New maps too would be a good thing, a map editor would be great!
-Some units are in the game (brunswick, swiss or polish infantry...) but not available in multi or singleplayer! So a pity, again they should be usable for all.
-ranks firing: for the moment all the ranks fire at the same time which is impossible in reality or only the first rank: kneeling and firing by rank would be great.
-Borrow some errors as shako of the 95th rifles or old guard bearskin.
    -and...I dream... ladders for siege.
-AI abordage in naval battles, incendiary projectiles ("boulet chauffés à rouge" in french)

They will not change the Firedrill, the reason is the new gameplay. CA said this.

I would wish that the spyrate is really reduced, cause my generals in late game will be assasinated on vh/vh

Proud to be a real Prussian.

I want to see historical uniforms for Navy soldiers and admirals of major nations!

Why CA put historical uniforms only in land battles and forgot the navy ones???

Well, since they can’t back-fit ETW with the advances in NTW maybe they could port over the GHC or maybe the RTI (which is a better fit for time anyway).

I am sure you wouldn’t find too many objections to that in a patch.

I would also like to see a Map Editor, I would even pay for it if it came as DLC, but I doubt it

Fix bugs, UI bugs (floating flags get messed up, mini map and PiP forget that they're turned off etc...) + also naval battle freeze bug (so far only happened once for me at least).

Add the extra units to the GC as mentioned above (Brunswickers etc.). They really should be there.

Allow us to build the ship class 'Razee' in the GC (this really bugs me...)

Give the correct/consistent stats for the ships - What it says on the unit cards on the campaign map is not the same as what's displayed on the cards in the battle (which is I believe the correct stats). Check the firepower of the heavy first rate and that of the ironclad for e.g.

Give a bit more space to the sea around the coastal areas. There are unrealistic choke points being made by nothing other than the edge of the map (Portugal for e.g.)

Allow admirals to be transferred to different ships.

Annouce DLC that will expand the territories and timeline of the GC .

And give the player the ability to dismiss an admiral too, it's a real problem that if one of your admirals goes a bit wrong then either you have to stop using their ship in battle or you have to destroy the ship, it escapes me why you can't do this anymore.

Maybe replace Napoleon's double morale boost with a single morale boost and a command boost, at the moment Napoleon gets +6 campaign, +12 battle which makes the game too easy as the French and too hard (relatively) as the Coalition. And while I'm being picky the abilities of the French generals are all wrong, I mean Ney and Murat better than Massena? Je ne le pense pas! And where's Lannes , eh?

Changes to make the battles slower - lower movement speed and reload rate for units.

Suicide generals - all cavalry seems to rush in unsupported at the beginning of the battle.

Bring back soldiers celebrating after victory
That was a good feature in Rome and Medieval 2 and it seems even more appropriate for Napoleon's faithful soldiers!

To get more Special Units for liberating a faction, not just the Polish Legion.

For example when you liberate Bavaria, you would get Bavarian Line Infantry
when you liberate Ireland, you would get Irish Line Infantry
    ...

those standard French Lines are boring, i can recruit them by myself.

Here's a little patch to improve the old guard bearskin: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=337800

    Not perfect, but still better.

    Previously posted:

Here are a few friendly suggestions for CA to include in an upcoming patch

    Protectorates:
I am finding that protectorates are not all that they should be - here is a few issues.
    1. The composition of the armies of the protectorates should be fully visible to the parent faction - even without a Spy
    2. Protectorates should not be able to decide to suspend trade relations with the parent faction
    3. They should not be able to refuse to join wars when asked by the parent faction
and here is my wish list...
    4. There should be a condition where the protectorate becomes part of your faction
    5. You should be able to request troops from your protectorates (with their uniforms, not yours)

    Views/Reports:
I would like to have access to the following data thru a view or report -
    1. If the player focusing on one of his stacks, the number of men within the stack should be visible
    2. total number of men within a region
    3. Report summing up regiments by type, by region, by experience level,... with total number of men in each category - pretty sure Napoleon had a rough idea on how many men were in his armies

    Battle History:
I like the fact that the game now name the battles in the battle intro screen (in campaigns). It would be great if those battles names were stored together with their final stats. There would be a listing or battles that could then be accessible

    Battles:
I have noticed that many men got up after a cannonball hit - I don't believe that there was many minor injuries resulting from cannonball hits..

Oh, and I forgot they need to scrap the territorial expansion penalty if you liberate a region. That makes you the "good guys", right?

    "Battles:

Nah, look closer, those men are getting knocked over by their peers who are getting their limbs blown of by cannonballs.

I don't think the AI should be allowed to "emplace" its cannon when in the Defence. It makes it far to easy to flank as the BAI inf withdraw leaving the cannon easy game.
